Gisagara VC raise Muvara suspension after apology

Gisagara VC have lifted the disciplinary suspension imposed on star center blocker Ronald Muvara after he apologised for misconduct.

Muvara and teammate Cedrick Ngaboyintwari had been handed three-month suspensions in June after withdrawing from the squad that was scheduled to face Police VC within the quarter-finals of the 2026 Genocide Memorial Event.

Their absence pressured Gisagara to forfeit the match, ending the membership's marketing campaign within the competitors.

Membership secretary-general Edmond Gatera confirmed to Instances Sport that Muvara had been reinstated following his apology.

“After reviewing the apology letter submitted by Muvara concerning his misconduct, we determined to pardon him and permit him to rejoin the squad,” Gatera mentioned.

He added that Ngaboyintwari stays suspended.

“Ngaboyintwari has not submitted an apology letter, which means his suspension nonetheless stands.”

Though Muvara's suspension was initially set to run till the beginning of the 2026/27 season in October, the membership opted to raise the sanction early after accepting his apology.

In the meantime, sources near Ngaboyintwari point out that the setter has develop into a free agent and isn’t keen to resume his contract with the Southern Province-based membership.
