Rwandan cyclists have begun a coaching camp on the UCI Regional Satellite tv for pc Centre in Musanze as they put together for the 2026 UCI Street World Championships, scheduled to happen in Montreal, Canada, from September 20 to 27.
Montreal will host the 99th version of the championships, following the historic 2025 occasion in Kigali, Rwanda.
Nationwide Group Coach Félix Sempoma has chosen a provisional squad of 19 riders for the coaching camp, which began this week and can run till September 16, earlier than the workforce departs for Canada.
The squad options athletes from the elite males's and ladies's classes, the Beneath-23 ranks, and the junior classes.
Within the junior ladies's class, the riders are Yvonne Masengesho, Donatha Akimana, and Zawadi Kanyange.
The ladies's elite and Beneath-23 group contains Xaveline Nirere, Claudette Nyirarukundo, Diane Ingabire, Liliane Uwiringiyimana, Mariate Byukusenge, and Jazilla Mwamikazi.
Among the many males, Shemu Nsengiyumva is the one rider older than 23, whereas the opposite chosen athletes are Shadrack Ufitimana, Aimé Ruhumuriza, Kevin Nshutiraguma, and Samuel Niyonkuru.
The riders collaborating within the junior males's (U19) coaching camp are Brian Ishimwe, Jackson Nkurikiyinka, Jonathan Rafiki Muhawenimana, Pacifique Byusa, and Jules Mugabo.
Rwanda was represented by 23 cyclists when the World Championships have been held in Kigali in 2025.
